The City of Cold Spring was incorporated in 1941. There  is  access  to  the  City  of  Cold Spring  by several major expressways,    I-71/75,  I-275 and I-471.  The city  is approximately 16 miles from the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati Airport. Cold Spring is a fifth class city with a  Mayor/Council  (six total council members) form of government, which has non-partisan elections.  There are four voting precincts situated  in the 68th House District, the 24th Senatorial District and the 4th Congressional District.

Municipal Park-5694 E. Alexandria Pike-includes a picnic grove, shelter building,
grills, ballfield, a nature trail, playground equipment, volleyball and horseshoe courts, and Community Room.

Apple Orchard Park-Orchard Terrace and Winters
Lane - contains picnic tables, benches and playground
equipment more suitable for younger children.

 

NEWSPAPER: The city is served by the Kentucky Post, the
Enquirer (both dailies) and by the Campbell County Recorder (a
weekly suburban publication).

UTILITIES: Gas and electric is provided by Cinergy. Water is
supplied by the Northern Kentucky Water Service. Sanitary
sewer service is provided by Sanitation District #1.

FIRE DEPARTMENT: The department is part paid and part
volunteer. Their non-emergency phone number is 441-7631.

AREA: The city consists of approximately 13.2 square miles,
40% residential, 10% industrial, 10% commercial and 40%
developable.

SCHOOLS: Cold Spring is in the Campbell County School
District. There are two elementary schools. Children
attend a public middle school and both public and parochial
high schools in nearby parts of the county. Northern Kentucky
University is located in an adjoining city.

Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK).

SNOW REMOVAL: City crews provide snow removal on an as
needed basis.

BUILDING & ZONING DEPARTMENT: Any exterior work
on your home, which is not replacement requires a building
permit before the work is begun. All Cold Spring building and
zoning permits are obtained thru the Northern Ky. Area

Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky
International Airport is approximately 16 miles west of the city.
